Government funded vaccine has now arrived at the clinic. Patients who meet the following criteria are eligible:
*people aged six months to less than five years (can be given at the same time as childhood vaccines)*Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged six months and older*pregnant women (can be given at any stage of each pregnancy)*people aged 65 years and older (a vaccine that is specifically designed to produce a higher immune response is available for this group).*people aged six months and older with medical conditions putting them at increased risk of severe influenza and its complications.

Hospital Street Doctors would like to welcome Dr.Rukshani Wijesekera who is a general practitioner with over 20 years of experience. She has a special interest in paediatrics, psychology and geriatrics. Dr Rukshani believes in creating a safe environment for all her patients which encourages transparent communication and strives to guide you on the best road to recovery with efficiency and understanding.She loves all kinds of animals and enjoys caring for them, likes reading and watching Korean dramas when she's not with her patients.She is very family oriented and is married, with two daughters and a pet boxer.
