Government funded vaccine has now arrived at the clinic. Patients who meet the following criteria are eligible:
*people aged six months to less than five years (can be given at the same time as childhood vaccines)*Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged six months and older*pregnant women (can be given at any stage of each pregnancy)*people aged 65 years and older (a vaccine that is specifically designed to produce a higher immune response is available for this group).*people aged six months and older with medical conditions putting them at increased risk of severe influenza and its complications.
WELCOME DR WASANTHI DHARMADASA
Hospital Street Doctors would like to welcome Dr Wasanthi Dharmadasa who is a general practitioner with over 20 years of experience. Wasanthi is a very friendly GP registrar who is moving from Darwin with her family to join her old mates Anu, Rukshani and Pushkara in Albury Wodonga! She brings with her a wealth of experience in tropical medicine and Aboriginal health in her years of working at Royal Darwin Hospital and in rural General Practice.
Her special interests are women’s health, sexual health, chronic disease management and lifestyle health. She joins Hospital Street Doctors to continue her journey towards Fellowship with the RACGP. She has a keen eye on arts and crafts and very proficient in indigo dye for fabric!
